Mystery Noise Investigation, Edinburgh
Forensic vibration measurements across the facade and roof of a newly completed residential block to establish the cause of a mystery structureborne noise.
In conjunction with Alistair Somerville Associates, Suono staff undertook long term vibro-acoustic measurements were undertaken over an array of positions across the roof and facade of a recently completed residential building in order to establish the cause of a series of mystery noises leading to sleep disturbance within flats across the building. Time of flight analysis was undertaken for a range of captured noise events, with several ‘hot spots’ established as the potential origin of the mystery noise.
